About MoneyPaths
The mission
MoneyPaths exists to make the analysis behind good financial learning available to everyone, free. Long-horizon money questions are usually answered with one confident number; MoneyPaths shows the whole spread of outcomes instead, so anyone can see how the rules and the maths actually behave - and make their own read of the odds.
If MoneyPaths helped you learn or saved you money, you can leave a small tip to say thank you — the tools stay free either way.
Why it is free
Serious modelling of everyday money questions is normally locked behind paywalls, products or jargon. The point of this site is to remove that barrier, not to monetise it: there are no ads, no affiliate links, no data collection and nothing to sign up for.
The modelling philosophy
Money questions with long horizons do not have one answer; they have a range of outcomes that depends on things nobody knows yet, like inflation and future pay. So these tools never give a single number and a verdict. They simulate thousands of possible futures and show the whole spread - how often each outcome happened - and leave the reading of it to you.
Three rules keep that honest. First, every statutory figure and assumption lives in one public parameter file, and the assumptions shown on the page are generated straight from it, so the page cannot quietly drift from the model. Second, everything is written in plain English, with technical terms explained the first time they appear. Third, the site presents information and never advice: it shows what happened across simulated futures and does not tell anyone what to do.
